West Bloomfield Education Foundation Grants
The West Bloomfield Education Foundation sponsors teacher mini-grants. Money is raised by the Foundation Committtee. Parents are the main contributors to this fund. Each spring, teachers in the West Bloomfield School District submit applications for mini-grants to innovatively enhance classroom instruction through creative projects.
In 2003-04, I was awarded $1,500.00 to purchase a document camera for my classroom. I have assisted several teachers at Doherty over the past 3 years to successfully achieve funding for technology at our school. The main focus for our grants has been document cameras, LCD projectors, and SMART Boards. Our mission is to integrate a visual learning system in every classroom at our school.

Michigan Consortium for Outstanding Achievement
in Teaching with Technology
Throughout the 2004-05 school year, I mentored 5 student teachers at Doherty through the process of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of integrated technology projects throughout the curriculum. For this project, I received a matching funds grant of $2500.00 from the MCOATT organization. With this funding, I was able to equip my classroom with a SMART Board and LCD projector.
I also mentored a student teacher in 2005-06, and she successfully completed the MCOATT portfolio. Click here to view Tonya Doughty's portfolio.
Other student teachers that I have mentored in the MCOATT certification are: Julie Bednark and Crystal Voytal. |
