Welcome to my portfolio!

I have been teaching Earth Science courses at Cesar Chavez Academy High School since 2004.  I also teach Geography courses as an adjunct faculty at both Oakland Community College and Madonna University.  What I love about teaching is the ability to share my passion for science and geography with my students.

I believe that a multidisciplinary and integrated approach towards education offers students the opportunity to make real-world connections in today’s globalizing society.  My educational belief is that everyone is capable of learning yet, sometimes students allow internal and external obstacles prevent them from achieving their goals.  My goal is make learning relevant and useful while I encourage students to use the tools that they have, learn new skills, and improve upon their skills to achieve their maximum potential.

My academic background began several years ago at Schoolcraft Community College as an aspiring teacher. I transferred to Eastern Michigan University where I earned a bachelor's degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Because of my academic achievements, I was offered a Graduate Assistant position at EMU in the Geography/Geology Department where I completed a Master's Degree. Currently, I am attending Lawrence Technological University, enrolled in the MET program. This website was created as part of the fulfillment for course MET 6223.
